Green- APC Flats

I am obsessed with things that go on my feet lately. And it doesn’t just stop at shoes–I’ve been eyeing socks and toe rings too. Fine, maybe not the toe rings although I’m predicting a comeback in Fall 2012.

And while I dream pennilessly of purchases that I can’t afford to make, I copy and paste my fantasies onto blog pages. These are wet dreams, sloppily drenched in drool and material-lust, and sadly, so far from being reality.

And with these pastel mint APC flats lurking, I should definitely treat myself to a one night “stand”. Har har har.

I’m still giving my new place a personality makeover. Despite the turbulent economic times, I’m still thoroughly examining beautiful home furnishings to add to my currently “sparse” room. They are painting my walls white today, which to me is an invitation for more color!

Check out these beautiful pillows from Rose and Radish, the stylish design store in SF that makes my wallet feel insufficient every time I stop by. The purple ones are definitely my favorite.

I’m in the process of furnishing my new place. That’s why I’ve been obsessively devouring home design blogs and online stores for solid deals and inspiration.

Wabi Sabi”, a phrase coined by Japanese artisans and philosophers, addresses the impermanence and transience of nature in design and art. These days, we see this aesthetic reinterpreted in furniture, tabletop, and fashion design. Some of my favorite artisans like Yo Takimoto (whose wood carving class is occasionally offered at Tortoise), ceramicists Miyashita Zenji and Shimaoka Tatsuzō, all incorporate the Wabi Sabi principles in their creations. Today via Design Observer, I learned of designer Naoto Fukasawa, whose rustic paper products speak the unaffected beauty of nature. And they certainly speak volumes to me.

I’m kind of a traditionalist when it comes to wallets.  I like simple leather designs. Function is important. That is why I’ve been using my Comme des Garcons one for so long that it’s scuffed and distressed. I tried to switch over to my mom’s hand-me-down vintage Bally wallet, gold on black patchwork, lovely until I had my purse stolen.

This is my newest obsession. 4-zipper-wallet by Bless. The gold is just loud enough but not overwhelming. I love Bless. Available at the Ooga Booga Store.

Can someone buy me this?

I need a sugar daddy. Um. Or mommy. I don’t discriminate. Especially if you want to spend money on me.

This white rabbit (available at Rose and Radish) reminds me of another White Rabbit.

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you’re going to fall
Tell ’em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Recall Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she’ll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen’s “off with her head!”
Remember what the dormouse said;
